What is 16×2 I2C/IIC LCD Display?
16×2 I2C LCD display is a type of LCD display that utilizes the Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) protocol to establish communication with other devices, such as microcontrollers or arduino board. As normal 16×2 module with up to 16pins which too much for some projects whose I/O ports are limited. I2C/IIC lcd displays are designed to solve this problem.
What is advantage of I2C LCD display?
Comparing with normal 16 pins 16×2 lcd display,I2C 16×2 display’s biggest advantage is that it only has 4 pins. It can help you save lots of I/O ports. When your controller board has very limited I/O ports, I2C lcd display can be very helpful.

By sodering an I2C adapter (with chip PCF8574) , a normal 16×2 lcd display becomes an I2C 16×2 display.
This type 16×2 display is popular and easy to make. Just soldering adapter on normal type 16×2.
But with an adaper,this type 16×2 display requires large room . And its cost is also higher.
So we developed another type I2C l6x2 display to decrease thickness and cost for customers
This type I2C 16×2 LCD display is a good choice for customers whose devices has limited room for displays,and who are sensative for prices.
With IC AIP31068L, no I2C adapter required, so this type I2C display has better price and more compact structure.
